With over a decade of experience, Wayne’s expertise has propelled him to the forefront of attendance improvement strategies.
Wayne is spearheading Inclusive Attendance, his ground-breaking professional development programme aimed at empowering schools to foster a culture of everyone being responsible for school attendance.
The session will be split into 3 parts:
- Part 1: The Post-Pandemic World – Explore the post-pandemic challenges faced by schools, children, and families. Delve into research insights from renowned bodies like the Education Endowment Foundation, Ofsted, and the Department of Education guidance, all focused on enhancing attendance in educational institutions.
- Part 2: Exploring the Attendance Professional Development Modules – Dive into the six Learning Modules of the Attendance Professional Development Model. Gain insights into why each module is crucial for improved attendance outcomes, how to implement them effectively, and what positive changes you can expect within your school environment.
- Part 3: Creating a New Culture – Learn to transition from a traditional ‘top-down’ leadership approach to a culture where everyone shares responsibility for school attendance. Understand how the four Domains of Practice can drive the transformation and embed a collective sense of accountability.
Facilitator profile
Wayne Harris has led attendance in both Primary and Secondary settings since 2007, he has a proven record of rapidly improving attendance at both a MAT and individual school level. A key element of these improvements has been implementing a child-centred and evidence-informed improvement model, along with outstanding professional development for all staff.
Wayne now leads Inclusive Attendance, working with over 500 schools nationally, delivering a revolutionary Professional Development Model that empowers schools to cultivate a culture where everyone is responsible for school attendance.
